CROSS THE BRIDGE TO 3rd LEVEL COLLEGE WITH CASTLEBAR COLLEGE OF FURTHER EDUCATION – Enrolling March 2019

CCFE has an excellent reputation in providing high-quality QQI courses which can lead directly into employment or offer an avenue for pursing further study at third level institutions. A variety of Level 5 & 6 courses are available in the areas of:
·         Business & Administration
·         IT/Computing Design
·         Healthcare Studies
·         Social Studies with Psychology
·         Early Childhood Care & Education
·         Music
·         Sports Studies
Our newest courses, Computer Systems and Networks (Level 6) and Sports Studies with Exercise Science (Level 5) have proven very popular amongst students and can offer alternative pathways into several Honours Degree Programmes at Universities and Institutes of Technology.  Examples include B.Sc. in Information Technology Support in GMIT or PE Teaching in NUI Cork.
CCFE strives to create strong ties with third level organisations.  In addition to our long working relationship with GMIT which affords links in several of the Business area courses, we have forged a new relationship with St. Angela’s College in Sligo.  These links provide direct pathways for some of our students.  For example, qualifying students in the areas of Nursing, Childcare and Social Studies can transition to Honours Degree programmes in St. Angela’s, Sligo.  Our Nursing programme also works closely with several third level organisations in the UK to place our students in Nursing and/or Healthcare related programmes there.
The possibility of Advanced Entry to Year 2 of some Degree Programmes in Institutes of Technology e.g. GMIT Galway/Castlebar exists for students who complete Business, Early Childhood Care & Education or Computer Systems & Networks at Level 6.
